IP-naslov kot osebni podatek: kaj razkrije o posamezniku

Abstract

IP-naslov predstavlja ključen element pri uporabi storitev, ki jih ponuja internet. IP-naslov enolično označuje komunicirajočo napravo v omrežju, s tem pa cilj oziroma izvor podatkov, ki se prenašajo po omrežju. Posredno z IP-naslovom lahko določimo uporabnika naprave, kar indicira, da je IP-naslov tudi osebni podatek. Hkrati je tudi podatek o komunikaciji, tako imenovani prometni podatek, zato je predmet varovanja tako informacijske kot komunikacijske zasebnosti. Z vidika obeh omenjenih zasebnosti smo raziskovali, kakšno vlogo ima IP-naslov pri identifikaciji posameznika, zlasti v okoliščinah preiskovanja kaznivih dejanj, storjenih z uporabo spleta.

Secondary title:	IP-address as personal data: what it reveals about the individual
Secondary abstract:	IP-address is a key element of using services offered by the internet. It uniquely indicates a communication device in the network and by that, also declares the source or the end point of transeferred data. Indirectly, IP-address determines the user of the communication device, which idicates that IP-address is also personal data. At the same time, it serves as traffic data - data about communication, therefore it is a part of information and communication privacy. From the perspective of both privacy types, we researched the meaning of the IP-address for the identification of an individual, particularly when it comes to investigating cybercrime.
