Abstract

Secondary title: ǂA ǂcomparison of youth unemployment in Slovenia, Hungary and Czech Republic
Secondary abstract: In the life of everyone, youth represents the most dynamic period, as here young people encounter different transitions between statuses, situations, levels and types of education, and the transition to a state of employment or unemployment. The latter is still a big problem for them, as the number of those involved in education is still very high. The problem arises in the labor market, which, however, is not able to absorb such a scale. In our diploma project, we compare the youth unemployment by various factors between Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, where we concluded that our country has the highest rates of unemployment among young people, in comparison with other two countries, as well as the level of long-term youth unemployment. In the last two chapters, we found out that in Slovenia the number of students enrolling is decreasing. We also learned that employers have difficulty finding employees in certain professions. Some of the main reasons for youth unemployment are the lack of work experience, job search skills and disparity between supply and demand in the labor markets. However, Slovenia has an efficient method of overcoming these concerns by having more than ten programs that help young people find and get a job.
