"Evropska begunska kriza"
Abstract

Europe is faced with a massive influx of refugees fleeing their homes from conflicts and wars, because their lives and the lives of their children are at risk. They come in distress, with the intention of protecting their lives and receiving our help. In everyday conversations, the most commonly used terms are refugee or migrant and in fact, experts talk about mixed migratory flows, because the various routes to Europe unite people who are fleeing to save their lives (refugees), and people who leave their homes with the desire for a better life (economic migrants). In a world with a growing number of crises caused by human actions or natural disasters many are forced to leave their country. In Europe, there is a rising negative attitude towards immigrants. In politics and in the media, they are represented as a threat to European culture and are considered to cause increased crime rates. This master's thesis is devoted to a discussion of the refugee crisis, faced by the European Union and its Member States. |
