Abstract

Secondary title: Nohomogeneous distribution of magnetic flux inside the core of a resistance spot welding transformer
Secondary abstract: This master's thesis presents the phenomenon of nonhomogeneous distribution of magnetic flux inside the core of a resistance spot welding transformer. The emergence of non homogeneous distribution of the magnetic flux inside the core can cause local saturation of the core, which has negative implications during operation of the device. The first part of the thesis presents the causes for the emergence of the discussed phenomenon. The main cause for the formation of an inhomogeneous distribution of magnetic flux is the inadequate distribution of magneto motive force in the transformer window due to the inadequate construction of the transformer. The presented theoretical analysis is confirmed by numerical calculations using adequate models of the discussed device, as well as with measurements using a laboratory experimental system. In the framework of the performed numerical analysis, two modeling techniques are presented that take into account the influence of the discussed phenomenon on the operation of the device, namely the finite element method and the lumped parameter circuit method. The thesis furthermore describes the process of making as well as the structure of the used experimental measuring system. The presented results of the experimental and numerical analysis agree very well and confirm the assumed causes for the emergence of the nonhomogeneous distribution of magnetic flux. Based on the performed analysis, measures that reduce the discussed phenomenon and its consequences are also presented
