Abstract

Secondary abstract: Direct sales allow farmers the possibility of additional income on the farm, but require a lot of extra effort, time and marketing skills. Many farmers can grow food and manufacture products, but do not know how to market them. Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto developed a mobile application LOKeT (local electronic marketplace), which enables farmers to promote and sell locally grown food in a modern way and facilitates the access of growers to consumers. In this thesis, we made an overview of popular electronic payment systems and an overview of open source and proprietary platforms for e-commerce that allow easy inspection to the developers of the application. We also made diagrams that show the current and subsequent operation (extended to electronic payment systems) of the mobile applications. We proposed the open source business models and payment systems that the application could make use of in the future.
