Purchase is present in every company, since it is responsible for supply of materials and information. Companies must, due to the increasing competition, optimize business operation in all areas. Purchase is a business function, which timely, by appropriate price, with necessary quantity, and proper quality supplies production companies with raw materials, materials, and energy. In the last years, the purchase in companies has been changing, which is reflected in increasing interest of managers and purchase personnel. Economic and efficient purchase function contributes to the efficiency of the company. Purchase decisions influence the performance of the company, since the smallest saved value in purchase contributes to the profit of the company. Purchase process differs among the companies, but purchase phases are performed in order. In the theoretical part of the thesis, a phenomenon and the importance of purchase is presented, organization of purchase, as well as purchase operation. In the empirical part, purchase in a smaller construction company is presented, as well as the process of purchase operation, and suggestions for optimization are given. |
