Abstract

Secondary title: Influence of visiting thermal spas on forming healthy habits
Secondary abstract: This bachelor's thesis deals with health tourism, which is one of oldest and most stable forms of tourism. Because individual's daily life is increasingly straining, care for health is becoming an important social priority. For that reason we questioned, how visitation of spa and health resorts influences the formation of health related habits. In the theoretical part of the thesis we determined principles of health tourism, its development, offer of Slovene health resorts, presented findings about effects of travel and health resort visits on health as also the process of habit formation. For empirical research we have conducted a survey about health related habits in everyday life and during the stay in spa. Collected results were processed with SPSS programme using description statistics, based on which T-test were performed in order to test the hypotheses for independent or dependent samples. Main findings show there are no statistically important differences in healthy behaviour in everyday life and during visitors stay at spa. There are also no statistically important differences in behaviour of tourists in certified thermal spas and those in spas, which do not have the status of health resort. However there are statistically important and positive differences in behaviour of visitors who have bought health-oriented package versus those who have not.
