Secondary title: | Modification and testing of a device for the feeding of abrasives |
Secondary abstract: | The process of abrasive water je cutting is a process usually used, for the cutting and machining of difficult to machine materials. When abrasive water jet is used for the cutting and machining it leaves a characteristic wavy surface that limits the process accuracy and usefulness. During the preparation for the exploration of connections between the process parameter of the abrasive mass flow and the surface waviness a lot of attention was concentrated on the functioning and improvement of the abrasive feeding module. The module was an essential part of the abrasive water jet cutting device which was later used for preliminary experiments. The module enabled us to do experimental abrasive water jet machining using different abrasive mass flow rates. Experiments were also carried out with different module abrasive feeding parameters only with the module in order to analyse and measure the abrasive mass flow rates through it. Possible environmental influences on the abrasive feeding module functioning were also explored. In the end experimental machining was carried out using the abrasive water jet cutting device and the feeding module with different abrasive mass flow rates. The created wavy surface was measured with a line laser surface measuring device and analysed using computer software. |
