Abstract

Tema magistrskega dela je inkluzija, integracija in segregacija gluhih in naglušnih s stališča svetovalnih delavcev. V delu smo se ukvarjali z načini vključevanja gluhih in naglušnih otrok v redne osnovne šole. Zanimalo nas je stališče svetovalnih delavcev do vključevanja gluhih in naglušnih otrok. Težišče je bilo usmerjeno v osnovnošolsko izobraževanje. V teoretičnem delu smo spoznali pojme inkluzija, integracija in segregacija.

Secondary title: Inclusion, integration, segregation with the deaf and the hearing-impaired from the view of the school counseling
Secondary abstract: The main theme of this thesis is inclusion, integration and segregation of the deaf and the hearing-impaired students from the view of the school counseling service. The thesis focused on integration/inclusion of the deaf and hearing-impaired children into regular primary schools. The counselor's point of view on the latter was also closely researched. The thesis was targeted to elementary school education. The theoretical part introduced the concepts of inclusion, integration and segregation. Types of hearing loss were presented as well as different ways of recognizing the condition and its impact on speech-language development. Legal foundations of special education, school program and the adjustments for the deaf and hearing-impaired children were reviewed. The empirical research stated the counselors' point of view on integration, inclusion, integration and segregation of the deaf and the hearing-impaired and their opinion on additional professional support, as well as how these children engage in regular schools and what kind of adjustments would be necessary for them to function well in class. The research based on semi-structured questionnaire which was filled out by 34 counselors from different Slovenian primary schools. One semi-structured interview was made in person. One of our main conclusions was that the counselors' point of view on engaging the deaf and the hearing-impaired to regular primary schools is extremely positive, since it benefits both - children with special needs and the rest who learn to accept "being different".
