Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of the thermal centers that have approached the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism
Secondary abstract: In the field of tourism, modern society is increasingly oriented towards responsible and sustainable development. This development is promoted by the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, which also offers individual tourists organization tools for monitoring and analyzing their sustainable management. The purpose of the qualitative research, carried out in June and July, 2018, was to analyze the sustainability of operations in five selected thermal centers. Data was obtained through interviews. The data analysis showed that everyone has acquired the Eco Ecolabel environmental sign and that, in accordance with the requirements of this sign, they have also implemented mandatory measures to limit energy and water consumption, handle waste properly, use cleansing assets wisely, include local community etc.. The approach to the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism is also recommended by those involved in the study to those who have not yet joined. Innovative and high-quality solutions with a high added value in the area of sustainable development in tourism were observed only in two termal centers, therefore we believe that this area needs priority treatment.
