Abstract

Secondary title: Multicriterial optimisation of polymer gear pairs
Secondary abstract: The use of polymer materials in gear manufacture is constantly increasing. Due to the low cost, ease of manufacture, light weight and other characteristics of such materials they are in many cases more suitable than conventional metals. The latter have, due to their long use, valid international standards for calculating carrying capacity. On the other hand, polymer materials only have VDI 2736: 2014 guidelines, which describe only a handful of materials with the data necessary for calculations. The guidelines prescribe a testing procedure for obtaining more data, but this procedure is complicated and thus unavailable to many. In the scope of this Master's thesis a computer program was developed, which provides calculations of gear root and flank load-carrying capacity and temperature. The program offers multicriterial optimisation of polymer gear pairs in accordance to the VDI 2736: 2014 guidelines. Additionally it has the capability to accept material data obtained by the user and use it in calculations. Additionally, in the course of this thesis, a method of obtaining material fatigue strength was developed, the results of which can be added into the program by the user thus enabling calculations with new materials. The correctness of the calculation was verified.
