Secondary title: | Analysis of cutting tools and parameters for increasing the productivity of milling of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V |
Secondary abstract: | This master thesis presents the selection process of appropriate cutting tools and optimization of cutting parameters aimed at achieving the highest possible productivity when milling the titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V. The thesis further provides an overview of previous titanium alloys cutting research as well as description of performance of experiments and the manner of determining ceramic tools milling cutting parameters. According to the results of the experiments, we have determined that ceramic mills are at this time not yet suitable for the machining of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V. The planning and the performance of carbide mills experiments are presented together with details of the wear of milling tools. We have further explained cutting parameters used to simultaneously achieve the highest productivity and the maximum durability of tools. We have also analysed and compared the processing costs of ceramic and carbide mills respectively. Findings of our experiments and our suggestions for further work are presented in our conclusion herein. |
