Abstract

Kmetijstvo je pomembna panoga. Prvotna naloga kmetijstva je zagotavljanje varne in kakovostne hrane celotnemu svetu, poleg tega stremi k trajnostnemu gospodarjenju z naravnimi viri, ohranjanju biodiverzitete in tipične kulturne krajine.

Secondary title: Importance of fertilization planning for soil fertility
Secondary abstract: Human existence depends on agriculture, because it provide safe and quality food for the whole world. Furthermore, it helps to sustain and preserve natural resources and biodiversity and cultural landscape. Under this conditions, growers want to maximize food production on the fields. To achieve this, good supply of nutrients to the plants are needed. Plants use them for growth and development. Nutrients are added in mineral forms with fertilizers of mineral or organic origin. For efficient fertilization, soil analysis is needed. It provide information about current soil nutrition. Based on that, experts make fertilization plan. The plan is created for crop rotation in a period of 4 to 6 years. It is important, that the quantity of nutrients taken with crops harvested are returned to the field with fertilization. That is how positive balance in the soil is preserved, which keeps the soil fertile and we do not pollute the environment. In Slovenia, experts are trying to implement a uniform system to control soil fertility. In this way, it would be possible to compare data between laboratories and create a central database on soil fertility control, which would be useful for policy makers, agricultural consultants, researchers and farmers.
