Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis and comparison of digitalization procedures for the purpose of reverse engineering
Secondary abstract: This master’s thesis deals with the process of reverse engineering on the basis of data, gathered with different methods of digitalization. It describes the entire process of data acquisition in the form of point-cloud, on the basis of which it is possible to reconstruct surfaces in the process of reverse engineering. With the use of three different systems of digitalization, I demonstrate how to work with each of them, using practical examples. I also include a step-by-step description for each separate digitalization process with additional recommendations. In the conclusion, where a comparison between all three systems was made, those used in practical examples and the recommendations when it is sensible to use a certain one, we found out, that it is not possible to unambiguously determine the optimal one, it is however possible to choose the one, that is the best fit for a specific application. Taking into account, that more and more digitizers are available on the market, it is possible, on the basis of my findings, to get a basic notion what a certain system has to offer.
