Abstract

Različni teoretični koncepti v ospredje postavljajo hibridni način vodenja osnovnih šol, kjer so ravnatelji primorani stalno usklajevati med pedagoškim in poslovodnim vidikom vodenja.

Secondary title: Impact of time management on the principal’s success in primary school leadership
Secondary abstract: Individuals have to optimise their time the best they can due to a fast-paced life and increasing workload. Time is a unique concept surrounding our every step. Because time management is related to behaviour, habits and behaviour should be developed so that time management is reflected at work. One can deliver results more easily and faster through goal setting and working process planning, and focus on urgent and important tasks with these time management techniques, which are relatively simple. The role of principals in Slovenian primary schools changes due to the increasingly decentralised school system and so does the nature of their work. Internal and external factors of time inefficiency constitute an important element in time management and can even obstruct organised and planned work. The results of the conducted analysis show that principals of Slovenian primary schools are constantly exposed to distractions, but they all face these issues in their own way. Different theoretical concepts highlight a mixed approach to primary school leadership in which principals always have to balance between instructional leadership and management. Although the research did not allow me to establish a connection between visible time management skills and success in primary school leadership, I found that principals regularly employ different techniques of work and time organisation that certainly help them be more organised and obtain better workflow transparency.
