Abstract

Orišem Jungovo in Freudovo pojmovanje sanj.

Secondary title: Surreal understanding of dreams in contemporary photography
Secondary abstract: This paper deals with surrealism as a movement and style in the field of art. It tries to present the features of surrealistic movement. The connection between art, dream portrayal and surrealistic guidelines is explained, and also Jung's and Freud's definition of dreams. Joint directions of surrealism and psychoanalytic dreams interpretations are introduced, and the photographic medium is presented as a mean of manipulation and use of modern techniques. By the author’s personal body of work, meaning is given to all surrealistic researches that are presented in this paper. The surrealistic art is therefore closely related to the dream world. Surrealistic art expresses the need to break the values that reflect reality. Artists use these automatic techniques to create motifs that are based on subconscious contents. They rely on Freud's dream symbolism; moreover, they do not explain the conscious, but the liberation of the mind.
