Secondary title: | Monitoring the fertility of sheep and lambs growth in the flock at farm Brgles |
Secondary abstract: | In the B. Sc. Thesis, we presented monitoring the fertility of ewes and lambs growth in the flock on the farm Brgles. In the recording of fertility are recorded data of birth dates and litter size. In the recording of lamb growth are recorded the birth weights and weights at the age of 60 ± 15 days. From the Central database Drobnica we obtained the average values for fertility parameters of sheep and the average values of parameters of lambs growth from 2000 to 2017 for the flock of Jezersko-Solčava sheep on the farm Brgles. In the same years, we obtained the average values for fertility parameters of sheep and the average values of parameters of lambs growth for all flocks of Jezersko-Solčava sheep in breeding program in Slovenia. Average values of fertility and growth parameters in the investigated flock were compared to average values of all Jezersko-Solčava flocks in breeding program in Slovenia. Results were graphically shown. We found that in the most of the years, ewes in the flock of the breeder Brgles had higher average values for fertility parameters compared to ewes from all flocks in Slovenia. Lambs had higher birth weight and similar daily gain than lambs in all flocks in Slovenia. |
