Abstract

Secondary title: Traffic density analysis at the Ljubljana Ring Road
Secondary abstract: BA dissertation addresses the problem of traffic flow and traffic load, which is every year more relevant. The question arises, how to take action to reduce congestion or increase road capacity. Overloading affects travel time and energy of drivers, causes pollution, reduces productivity and causes costs. In BA dissertation, I analyzed traffic data in rush hour on Ljubljana Ring Road, compared the volume of the traffic in summer season and off-season and shown the growth of traffic in the period from 2014 to 2017. I obtained the data from the Motorway Company in the Republic of Slovenia (DARS d.d.). The amount of traffic is measured using automatic meters located on the entire Slovenian motorway network. I concentrated on the analysis of traffic density only at the Ljubljana Ring Road, which includes the junction of all motorways. Due to the division into the west, north, east and south ring road, we can not talk about the total amount of traffic that is being transported, so I split them into all four. Annual growth in traffic indicates an increasing need for traffic relief plan, so several solutions have been presented to enable them.
