diplomsko delo
Abstract
Metode dela: Pri izdelavi diplomskega dela smo uporabili opisno metodo dela s študijem strokovne in znanstvene domače in tuje literature.

Child's fever and febrile seizures |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Fever is body’s defensive reaction and with children it appears as one of the most common symptoms of different illnesses, most frequently of acute viral infection. Timely and correct measures of fever are very important, especially with a child, who had previously already suffered from febrile seizures. We reduce fever with general measures and physical methods or with the application of antipyretics, which we try to avoid until the child is at least three months old. Febrile seizures appear as a result of rise in body temperature and cause parents to worry, although most febrile seizures stop after a couple of minutes. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to present child’s fever and febrile seizures. Method: During the writing of the diploma work we used the descriptive method with the study of professional and scientific domestic and foreign literature. We used the articles with full texts, and we defined time criteria from 2007 to 2017. Discussion and conclusion: With the analysis of the literature we established, that child’s fever is one of the most common reasons for visiting the doctor, because most parents become alarmed when they measure high fever. We found out that authors mention different definitions regarding the normal body’s temperature and that there is no single guideline regarding the place, where to measure temperature and which type of thermometer to use. Health educational work of a nurse, who educates parents on fever, febrile seizures and fever’s influence on the organism, is very important. She also gives them directives and instructions on how to act in the case of high fever and febrile seizures. |
