Abstract
Ozaveščanje ljudi in upoštevanje načel o zdravem prehranjevanju pripomore h kakovosti življenja in zmanjšanju tveganja za rakovo obolenje.
Raziskovalna metodologija: V zaključnem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela in kvantitativno metodologijo raziskovanja.

Nutritional habits of cancer patients |
Secondary abstract: |
Basis: In the world there are more and more deaths related to cancer disease. The key importance in cancer disease is the people’s nutritional habits formed in their early stage of life. Raising awareness and observing the principles of healthy nutrition contribute to a quality of life and to reducing the risk of cancer disease. The purpose of the conclusion is to find out what the nutritional habits of people with cancer disease are.
Research methodology: In the conclusion we used the descriptive working method and the quantitative research methodology. We applied the questionnaire with 30 closed - ended questions on nutritional habits of adult citizens. The survey has been carried out among the members of Cancer Patients’ Association of Slovenia from the regions of Murska Sobota, Ptuj and Maribor. We have surveyed 65 members with cancer disease.
Results: Based on the analysis of collected data we found out that people with cancer disease strongly improved their nutritional habits after they were diagnosed with cancer. Before the diagnose of cancer disease 18,5 % of the respondents assessed their nutritional habits as bad whereas no one assessed their nutritional habits as bad after the diagnose. We have concluded that there is a difference (Z= -3,676, p < 0,001) in self - assessment of nutritional habits before and after the disease.
Conclusion: Cancer disease presents a significant public health, social and economic problem of modern society. Each individual must take care for his own health also by an appropriate mean of nutrition. More and more attention will need to be given to prevention and control of the mentioned disease. |
