Abstract

Diplomsko delo Filmski adaptaciji romanov Kurta Vonneguta ml. Klavnica pet in Mati noč se v prvem delu ukvarja z življenjem, opusom in recepcijo ameriškega avtorja nemških korenin na Slovenskem, osrednji del vsebuje najprej metodološko podlago za analizo filmskih adaptacij literarnih del, nato pa še samo primerjavo filmskih adaptacij Slaughterhouse Five (1972) in Mother Night (1996) z istoimenskima literarnima predlogama Klavnica pet ali Otroška križarska vojna (1969, prev. 1980) in Mati noč (1961, prev. 2007).

Secondary abstract: The thesis Film Adaptations of Slaughterhouse Five And Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut jr. discusses in its introductory part the life of the German-born American writer, his writings, and their reception among Slovene audiences. The central part comprises firstly the methodologic basis for the analysis of film adaptations of literary works, and secondly the comparison of the film adaptations Slaughterhouse Five (1972) and Mother Night (1996), based on the eponymous sources Slaughterhouse Five (1969, translated to Slovene in 1980), and Mother Night (1961, translated to Slovene in 2007).
