Abstract

Mesto Maribor je bilo v preteklosti eno izmed najpomembnejših industrijskih središč v nekdanji Jugoslaviji. Ob koncu dvajsetega stoletja je mesto doživelo vrhunec gospodarske krize in s tem propad večine industrijskih panog. Večina močno degradiranih in neizkoriščenih območij v mestni občini Maribor je bila nekoč del aktivnih industrijskih con. Magistrsko delo obravnava degradirano urbano območje v industrijski coni Melje v Mariboru, ki ima velike urbanotvorne potenciale. Predlog zasnove urbane regeneracije umešča v prostor med Meljsko cesto in Dravo poslovne prostore, knjižnico, razstavne prostore in druge mestotvorne programe. Skupaj z raznolikim odprtim javnim prostorom, ki vsebuje širok pas zelenih površin ob reki Dravi, otroško igrišče, pešpoti, promenado in kolopark, tvori novo središče severovzhodnega roba mesta.

Secondary abstract: The city of Maribor has been one of the most important industrial centres in the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. At the end of the 20th century, the city reached its economic crisis peak, which consequently lead to the collapse of most of the industrial sectors. Most of the severely degraded and unused areas in the Municipality of Maribor have been one of the most active industrial zones in the past. The master thesis deals with degraded urban area in the Melje industrial area in Maribor, which has a lot of urban potential. The urban renewal design proposal places business premises, a library, exhibition places and other city-building facilities in the area between Melje road and the Drava river. Along with the diverse open public space, which contains a large green area alongside the Drava river, children's playground, walkways, promenade and a bike park, it forms a new centre of the north-eastern part of the city.
