Abstract

Pridobljene podatke smo s pomočjo opisne statistike grafično in tabelarno predstavili.

Secondary title: Impact of patient-related violence against community nurses
Secondary abstract: Theoretical foundation: Community nurses carry out health care at the individual's home, where they can become victims of violence caused by the patients. It is difficult to assess the occurrence of violence against community nurses since it is assumed that not all violence is reported, and there is also a lack of research. In order to prevent violence, it is important how nurses respond to it, and that they are also aware of the negative effects that experiencing violence can have. Research methods: Descriptive method of work was used for the theoretical part and quantitative methodology for the empirical part. Survey questionnaires were distributed to 52 community nurses. The obtained data were presented in graphical and tabular form using descriptive statistics. Results: The study found that community nurses most often tell their colleagues about the experience of violence and report it to their superiors. Many of them also confide in their family/friends. We also discovered a fairly low percentage of reporting to the organization, reports/lawsuits and seeking help from a counselor. When such violence occurs, community nurses most often feel disappointed, outraged and sad alongside experiencing other problems. Discussion and conclusion: In order to prevent violence, it is important how community nurses respond to it, and also that they report it. It is important to be aware how negatively experiencing violence can affect the well-being of nurses, and at the same time, worsen their attitude towards people and work.
