Transformacija območja med Ruško in Taborsko ulico

Abstract

Območje med Ruško cesto in Taborsko ulico s svojo lego neposredno nasproti Lenta predstavlja območje z velikim potencialom za nadaljnji razvoj mesta Maribor. Tega bi lahko narekoval razvoj območja v medicinsko medgeneracijsko središče, ki ga napoveduje bližina Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra in Medicinske fakultete. Danes so stavbe tega območja večinoma neslavno propadle in ne dosegajo potenciala območja. S svojim videzom kazijo pogled s priljubljenega levega brega Drave, hkrati pa onemogočajo zasnovo nujno potrebnih površin za druženje in rekreacijo. Na obravnavanem območju prepoznavamo potencial za vzpostavitev stanovanjske soseske, zasnovane na medgeneracijskem druženju, ki bi starejšim omogočala dostojnejše življenje in hiter dostop tako do medicinskih ustanov kot do družbeno pomembnega središča mesta, hkrati pa bi stanovalcem širšega območja zagotovila nove prostore za druženje. Hkrati bi ureditev območja vplivala na povečanje turističnega potenciala tega območja, predvsem zahvaljujoč odprtim pogledom na najstarejši del Maribora. V nalogi je predstavljen urbanistično-arhitekturni projekt revitalizacije obravnavanega območja, ki temelji na rekonstrukciji najbolj izstopajoče vogalne stavbe na Trgu revolucije 9, zasnovi zelenih površin, javnega prostora in izgradnji novega stanovanjskega objekta, ki bi skupaj omogočali nastanek kvalitetnejšega bivalnega okolja, ki bi postal privlačen za meščane in turiste. Z novimi vsebinami bi se oživilo propadajoče mestno tkivo in tako prispevalo k urejanju mesta od znotraj.

Secondary abstract:	The area in Maribor between Ruška Road and Taborska Street is positioned directly across Lent (the river Drava embankment), and represents an area with a huge potential for the city’s further development. The latter could be dictated by the transformation of this area of the city into a medical intergenerational center, as projected by the vicinity of the Maribor University Medical Center and the Faculty of Medicine. Today, most of the buildings in this area are heavily run-down and as such they fail to realize the potential of this part of the city. Their appearance blemishes the view from the popular left bank of the river Drava, and at the same time they preclude the design of vitally necessary recreation and socializing areas. In the area at issue, we recognize the potential for establishing a housing development designed on principles of intergenerational living and socialization, which would ensure more dignified living conditions for the elderly and a quick access to both, medical facilities and the socially significant city center, and at the same time it would provide a new meeting space for residents of the wider area. A redevelopment of the area would also increase tourism potential, mostly thanks to the open views of the oldest part of the city of Maribor. In the thesis, we present an architecture and urban design project for revitalizing the area under consideration, which is based on a reconstruction of the most conspicuous construction – the corner building, the design of green spaces and public space design, and the development of a new residential building, which would jointly enable the formation of a housing cooperative. Original planning ideas would reinvigorate the decaying tissue of this part of the town, and help the city heal from the inside.
