Avtobiografskost v potopisih Alme M. Karlin

Abstract

Pričujoče magistrsko delo prikazuje in analizira notranji svet svetovne popotnice in pisateljice Alme Maksimilijane Karlin. Ta je o svojem popotovanju napisala potopise z naslovi Samotno potovanje, Urok Južnega morja in Doživeti svet. Ob tem je bila izdana knjiga z naslovom Popotne skice, kjer so zbrani njeni prispevki, poslani celjskemu časopisu Cillier Zeitung v času njenih potovanj. Potovanje Alme M. Karlin je bilo polno preprek, ki so oblikovale pisateljičin duševni svet. Avtorica je v potopisnih prispevkih poudarjala predvsem lastna občutja, ki so bila ključna za magistrsko delo. Na podlagi njenih mnenj in komentarjev smo si lahko ustvarili sliko njene osebnosti in sliko njenega odnosa do različnih tematik. Tematike, obravnavane v magistrskem delu, se pojavljajo v vseh njenih delih ter razkrivajo njen odnos do sebe in notranjih bojev, s katerimi se je spopadala na svoji poti. Razkrivajo tudi, kaj je nadvse ljubila, čemu se je odrekla, kaj je prezirala in kaj sovražila. Pomemben je njen odnos do spola, materinstva, družine in moških, s katerimi je imela zelo slabe izkušnje. Med pomembnejšimi so zagotovo njeni odnosi do potovanja, izobraževanja in umetnosti, tujine, tujcev in tuje kulture ter seveda do njene domovine, Evropejcev in Evrope. Zanimiv je tudi pisateljičin odnos do religije, ki se je spreminjal glede na njeno duševno stanje. Obravnave je deležen tudi odnos do vojne in politike, ki pride do izraza le ob posebnih trenutkih. Delo je vsekakor prikaz zanimivega potovanja po svetu, pisateljičine osebnosti in njenih skritih želja, upov, razočaranj ter njene osebne tragedije.

Secondary abstract:	The hereby thesis shows and analysis inner world of a world traveller and writer Alma Maksimilijana Karlin. On her travellings shw wrote a number of traveller books entitled Lonely travel, A spell of South Sea, Experience world. Her book Travel scetches was published where her articles from Celje newspaper Cillier Zeitung were published in the time of her travels. Her travelling was filled with obstacles which formed the writer's inner world. The wrioter accentuated her own feelings which made a strong impact on writing this thesis. Threough her comments it was possible to create a picture of her personality and her reference to outer world in different topics. Topics which the study exposes appear in all of ther writings. It reveals her inner difficulties and her relationship towards herself, what were the things and who were the people she honestly loved and what she gave up and hated. An important part of her life is her attitute towards her own gender and to motherhood and family. The writings reveal she had bad experiences with men whioch ended in having bad relationships with them. Among the most important is her zeal for travelling, education and afrts. Her realtionshiop towards countries abroad, foreign culture anad her own country as well, of course are important. Her relation attitude towards religion is also interesting and has been changing according to her mental state which is the result of the difficulties in life. She mentions her attitutde towards war and politics which at that time was not specifically exposed. The thesis is an interesting travelling all over the world as well as travelling through the writer's inner world, her secret wishes, hopes, disappointments and her personal tragedy.
