Abstract

Pripravljeni so pomagati sočloveku in mu nuditi TPO.

Secondary title: Attitudes of ninth grade elementary students toward basic life support
Secondary abstract: Theoretical bases: Sudden cardiac arrest is an important public health problem since it is the leading cause of death in the developed countries. The basic life support (BLS), as an important part of the survival chain, was of the importance to the medicine already 50 years ago. Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), which are being increasingly available in public places, are devices with audible and visual warnings that help a layman lead a safe defibrillation. The purpose of the final work was to research what is the attitude of pupils in 9th grade of primary schools to provide BLS with the use of the AED. Research methods: A quantitative research methodology was used. The aim of the research was to get reliable, accurate, measurable and verifiable findings. In the production of finishing work, a descriptive method of work was used that helped us study the electronic and paper sources of domestic and foreign literature. In preparing the questionnaire we helped ourselves with the analysis of literature. The collected data was analysed using Microsoft Excel using descriptive statistics. Results: The research showed that the pupils of the 9th grade have not yet been in a situation where the revival was necessary. The pupils have been educated about the BLS. They are also ready to help people and provide BLS. The pupils are familiar with AED, but in a case of heart failure they would use it more efficiently if they were assisted. The pupils are also familiar with the fact how important it is that a lot people know how to provide BLS. Disscusion and conclusion: We have proven that the education of the pupils attentding the 9th grade in the field of BLS will be of a significant importance. More importantly, we have shown that children in these years are motivated and eager to learn about BLS and AED.
