Abstract

Atomskim vohunom prodor v notranjost projekta izgradnje atomske bombe ni predstavljal večjih težav, saj so obveščevalno-varnostne službe tedaj imele zelo pomankljivo varovanje tajnih podatkov.

Secondary title: Nuclear dialogue between the usa and north korea: the role of intelligence services
Secondary abstract: Nuclear weapons are the main reason for the existence of atomic spying and the source of conflicts between some countries. As the Americans started the researches about how to make an atomic bomb, the Soviet Union also showed interest in it. But in order to make an atomic bomb without much effort and to gain some years, the Soviet Union obtained data on the construction of the atomic acquisition by spying. Breaking through into the project of building an atomic bomb did not make major problems to the atomic spies, as they were informed about security services, because the classified information were very poorly protected. That is how, Klaus Fuchs, Kim Philby, Ethel in Julius Rosenberg and dr. Allan Nunn May began to reveal information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union, which was supposed to be a secret. Before the intelligence and security services came to the track about espionage, critical information has already been revealed. The superficial verification of employees by the intelligence officers later led to nuclear disputes, as more and more countries wanted to possess nuclear weapons. So, the deterioration of US relations and North Korea during the Cold War had began. The grudge between the countries was initially due to the division of North Korea and South Korea between the United States and the Soviet Union. It then turned into a nuclear conflict, due to the North Korean nuclear reactor being detected by the Intelligence and Security Services with longer observation, which represented an enormous security risk to the Americans. The US was committed to take away nuclear weapons from North Korea, as it represented a serious security threat. Of course, North Korea did not want to give up its nuclear weapons, what lead to mutual conflicts and provocations. A major role in the conflict between the states played the US intelligence service who used to create profiles of the leader of North Korea and his directing staff. They also established a connection with foreign intelligence officers to facilitate the control of North Korea's nuclear weapons. However, it represented a specific level of difficulty for the intelligence officers, since North Korea is known as a protected country with limited access to the internet. As it was found through the dissertation, the nuclear conflict between USA and North Korea is not over yet.
