Abstract

Tema magistrske naloge se nanaša na enega izmed večjih problemov naše države v zadnjih letih, in sicer železniško infrastrukturo. Natančneje se naloga osredotoča na železniško postajo Žalec in njeno popolno preureditev v kvalitetnejši in uporabnejši prostor – tako za prebivalce kot tudi železniški promet. Območje obdelave se nahaja na robu mesta Žalec, nedaleč od osrednje mestne ulice, kjer so locirani pomembnejši objekti ter turistične znamenitosti mesta. Površina v velikosti 2,5 ha ustvarja mestni rob, ki loči obstoječe grajeno tkivo od relativno novega industrijskega dela Žalca, ki v zadnjih letih cveti in se vztrajno širi, kar povzroča odmik od identitete prostora in ustvarja nejasen prehod med mestom in industrijo. Glavno vprašanje za to območje je, kako ga osmisliti ter ohraniti jasno ločnico med mestom in industrijo ter kako njegovo infrastrukturno nadgraditi za prihodnost in to tako, da imajo od tega največ koristi prebivalci Žalca in turisti. Urbanističen pogled magistrske naloge spoštuje zgodovinski vpliv železnice na mesto in njegov razvoj ter strmi k revitalizaciji prostora, ki bi bil varnejši in uporabnejši za prebivalce Žalca in širše občane ter turiste. Arhitekturni pogled magistrske naloge pa strmi k realizaciji novih objektov na območju, ki bi mestu doprinesli vizijo za prihodnost in ustvarili kvalitetno infrastrukturo za živeče v občini Žalec ter razvoj nadaljnjega turizma. Osnovni cilj je ustvariti revitalizirano območje z novimi vsebinami, ki bi Žalcu omogočale stopiti v prihodnost in ustvariti javno oazo za prebivalce in obiskovalce mesta.

Secondary abstract: The topic of the master's thesis relates to one of the major problems of our country in recent years, namely, railway infrastructure. More specifically, the task focuses on the railway station Žalec and its complete rearrangement into a better and more useful space - both for residents and for rail transport. The processing area is located on the edge of the town of Žalec, not far from the central city street, where important buildings and tourist attractions of the city are located. The surface area of ​​2.5 ha forms an urban edge that separates the existing built-up tissue from the relatively new industrial part of Žalec, which has bloomed and is continuously expanding in recent years, which leads to a shift away from the identity of the space and creates an unclear transition between the city and the industry. The main issue for this area is how to devise it and to maintain a clear division between the city and industry and how to upgrade its infrastructure for the future in such a way that the inhabitants of Žalec and tourists benefit most from it. The urbanistic view of the master's thesis respects the historical influence of the railway on the city and its development, and strives to revitalize the area, which would be safer and more useful for the inhabitants of Žalec and the wider population and tourists. The architectural view of the master's thesis is steeping towards the realization of new facilities in the area that would contribute to the city's vision for the future and create a quality infrastructure for the inhabitants of the Žalec municipality and the development of further tourism. The main goal is to create a revitalized area with new content that will enable the Žalec to move into the future and create a public oasis for the inhabitants and visitors of the city.
