(magistrsko delo)
Abstract
Raziskovalna metodologija in metode: Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela. Uporabili smo validirani anketni vprašalnik The WHOQOL-OLD.
Rezultati: Skoraj dve tretjini starostnikov (61,2 %) sta s kakovostjo življenja v domu zadovoljni.

The importance of factors of quality of life in old age |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: The life quality of older people is becoming an increasingly important determinant of aging. For some elderly, age is a positive stage of development, while for some others is a negative stage of life. The factors of life quality in old age vary from one person to another. The purpose of the master's thesis was to present the life quality of the elderly and the factors that influence this in residential care.
Research methodology and methods: We used the descriptive method of work. The empirical part was based on quantitative research methodology. We used the validated questionnaire »The WHOQOL-OLD«. Research was conducted in the home for the elderly in Savinjska region, where 121 elderly people participated. For the analysis of the results we used the SPSS program and statistical tests: T-test of independent variables and One-way ANOVA test.
Results: Most elderly (61,2%) are satisfied with the life quality in the elderly home. In old age, impairment of feelings and senses affects everyday life, but most elderly people (88,4%), think that their needs are well taken care of and that they have sufficient opportunities to actively spend their free time. In the elderly home, the elderly feel safe, respected, loved, and they also have the opportunity to love others.
Discussion and conclusion: We have found out that there is no significant statistical difference in the quality of life of elderly people regarding age, gender and ability to move. Elderly people in the elderly home rate the life quality as good, and there is no noticeable difference between the quality of life of the elderly before going to a elderly home and living in a home for the elderly. Nevertheless, we believe that elderly homes can still find opportunities to further improve the quality of life of the elderly. |
