diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa I. stopnje
Abstract

Natural gas reforming for solid oxide fuel cells |
Secondary abstract: |
The diploma thesis presents the operation of a fuel cell, different types of fuel cells, their comparison in efficiency, operating temperature, use of electrolyte, type of fuel and price. Solid oxide fuel cell and fuel preparation of fuel from natural gas are described. Several methods for producing hydrogen from natural gas are given. The experimental part uses steam reforming of natural gas.
Fuel cells have higher efficiency than conventional power generation devices, that can be even increased by using thermoelectric materials.
The purpose of the diploma thesis is to prepare fuel for a solid oxide fuel cell. The computer simulation is performed in Aspen Plus V10 process simulation program, which provides two simulations for producing fuel from natural gas with different intel pressures. When reforming from natural gas, in addition to hydrogen, another useful product is obtained – carbon dioxide. The results show that a greater quantity of desired products is obtained by using lower pressure in stream flows. |
