magistrsko delo
Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo preučili, kakšen odnos imajo matere do priročnikov za vzgojo otrok, kje iščejo socialno oporo in katerim virom socialne opore zaupajo.

Attitudes of mothers towards parenting guidebooks and seeking social support |
Secondary abstract: |
In the master's thesis, we examined the attitude of mothers towards handbooks for raising children, found out where they seek social support and which sources of social support they trust. The role of the parenting style, level of education, type of education and mother's profession were also examined. The study included 204 mothers with children aged 3 to 6 years. We have found that more educated mothers read handbooks on parenting more often as less educated mothers. Mothers with pedagogical education seek advice in parenting journals, scientific literature and attend parenting classes, but they also trust the advice they get more, as mothers with non-pedagogical education. Mothers who work in pedagogical professions mostly seek advice in parenting magazines, scientific literature and attend parenting classes. Mothers engaged in non-pedagogical professions and unemployed mothers follow. Mothers who consider their educational style as mostly authoritarian, rarely read handbooks on parenting. Mothers who use the authoritative parenting style turn to their partner for help when parenting dilemmas arise, and they also trust that advice more. Those mothers who consider their educational style as permissive do not trust as much in the advice they get from parenting magazines, books or handbooks. |
