diplomsko delo Visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa I. stopnje Strojništvo
Abstract

Environment aspects of the use of wood biomass fuels in small combustion plants |
Secondary abstract: |
The World Health Organization draws attention to the increasing air pollution with particulate matter that endangers human health. We are also facing this problem in Slovenia where small combustion plants running on biomass represent the main pollutant of air with particulate matter. The Decree on the Inspection, Cleaning and Measurement of Small Combustion Units aims to achieve a reduction in environmental pressures through active monitoring of small combustion plants, which will also help to achieve the binding goals of the Republic of Slovenia in relation to European legislation. In the thesis, we checked the prescribed regulation method for the implementation of emission monitoring on log wood boilers. Experiments were carried out on combustion plants with various technologies of wood combustion and wood with different moisture. The results of our experiments were compared with international research. We discovered that the emissions of solid particles of modern combustion plants are more than three times lower than those of combustion plants without controlled combustion. The thesis also presents some critical views on the methodology of monitoring and the prediction of the reduction of particulate matter in Slovenia for the period up to 2030 in case of replacing the old combustion plants for new ones. |
