Abstract

Zaradi svoje uporabnosti bolnikom omogoča hitrejše, učinkoviteje in cenejše zdravljenje.

Secondary title: Artificial intelligence in medicine
Secondary abstract: Artificial intelligence is mostly associated with robots in human form, who coexist among us, or with a notion of something omnipotent. One of the main reasons for such thinking are movies, which introduce us to such ideas that become embedded into our subconsciousness and stimulate our imagination. Even so, robots, which could live among us and could be equal to humans, do not represent artificial intelligence, neither does an omnipotent being. Artificial intelligence is much more than that.A number of milestones, which are worth mentioning, have been reached in medicine with the help of artificial intelligence. The use of medication has become consistent and automatic, the cancer treatment is more efficient and, last but not least, physicians can more accurately and simply diagnose patients. Nonetheless, from the critical perspective the artificial intelligence is not to be completely trusted. Despite its performance, it is also incredibly important not to neglect human factors in the delivery of health care.
