magistrsko delo
Abstract

Education and training for occupational safety and health are a part of preparing the youth for employment. The present thesis is therefore based on an overview and presentation of legal requirements in the field. Legislation of another country is compared and a transfer of good practices is proposed. The tasks of employers and teachers, as well as their responsibilities, are studied. Instructions for appropriate use of personal protective equipment are summarized. Based on an interview with a safety officer, several aspects were researched: legal framework of activities of engineering and technology teachers, their responsibilities in regard to students' injuries and tasks of technical assistants for ensuring occupational safety. An empirical research was used to establish compliance with legislation, pressure of parents on teachers, work methods of the latter and the role of employers. Adequate furnishings of classrooms and suitability of work equipment were analysed. It was proven that a certain risk is present when teaching engineering and technology due to ignorance and non-compliance with legislation of both students and teachers. Material conditions, although on the acceptability limit, are deemed sufficient, one of the main issues being limited financial resources. Safety oversight is acceptable, since teachers consider they educate their students well. It is validated that modern machines and devices facilitate the learning process for teachers, as well as that schools are well prepared in regard to fire safety and first aid. |
