Abstract

V primerjavi z drugimi državami v Evropi in s Svetom, je v Sloveniji prišlo do razvoja detektivske dejavnosti veliko let kasneje.

Secondary title: The Development of Detective Activity and Knowledge about the Detective Profession in the Republic of Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The diploma paper discusses the development of detective activity in Slovenia and the knowledge about the detective profession among the inhabitants of the Republic of Slovenia. The purpose of the diploma paper is to present the development and to find out what is the knowledge and opinion of the wider Slovenian public on the mentioned topic. The key concepts, such as detective activity and a detective, which are necessary for the correct and easier understanding, were born in the 19.th Century in France. Compared with France, Germany, United States and United Kingdom, the development of detective activity in Slovenia was followed many years later. The process of becoming a license for this profession is different between the counties. The number of detectives per country varies according to the development of countries, their size, number of people and their need for detectives. It also depends on the number of criminal. Because of the interest in knowledge and opinion of the detective profession, a survey was conducted, which is discussed in the second part of the paper. The survey was the central element to which the thesis was particularly focused. This is information that shows that most respondents have already heard about the previously mentioned activity, but they do not know what the detectives are dealing with and what their work is. Consequently, many respondents did not have an opinion, because they know too little about the subject in question. Most of Slovenian people have never hired a detective, but they think that detectives are needed. The acquired data tells us what should be done to make detective activity more recognizable and in what ways knowledge about it could be expanded. The diploma paper concludes that more advertising and talks about the detective profession are needed to aware Slovenian people about the profession.
