Politične implikacije vzpostavitve Azijske infrastrukturne investicijske banke

Abstract

V diplomskem delu sem se ukvarjal s preučevanjem političnih implikacij vzpostavitve Azijske infrastrukturne investicijske banke (AIIB). Razdelal sem politično moč monetarnih in finančnih institucij in kratko zgodovino ter strukturo mednarodnega monetarnega in finančnega sistema. Opisal sem pot do vzpostavitve AIIB, preučil sporazum o ustanovitvi banke ter pogledal odzive držav na to. Opisal sem tudi nekatere druge pobude Kitajske za spremembe mednarodnega finančnega in monetarnega sistema. Glavni pobudnik ustanovitve AIIB je bila Kitajska. Ta banka sodeluje z drugimi mednarodnimi finančnimi institucijami in hkrati izziva njihovo vlogo v svetovnem gospodarskem sistemu. Ustanovitev AIIB je delno posledica nezadovoljstva Kitajske s počasnimi reformami v mednarodnem monetarnem in finančnem sistemu, saj glasovalne moči v vzpostavljenih institucijah niso več sorazmerne z njeno gospodarsko močjo. Ključno je bilo preučevanje političnih implikacij vzpostavitve te banke.

Secondary abstract:	In the diploma thesis I have dealt with political implications of establishment of the Asian infrastructure investment bank (AIIB). I have elaborated on political power of monetary and financial institutions and written a short history of international monetary and financial system. I also described the path to the establishment of AIIB, studied the articles of agreement of the bank and the response to the bank from states. I contextualized the bank in other Chinese initiatives for changes in international financial and monetary system. The main initiator of the bank was China, and the bank cooperates with other international financial institutions and at the same time it challenges their role in the global economic system. Establishment of AIIB is partly a consequence of discontent of China with the slow reforms in the global monetary and financial system, because voting powers in the established institutions are no longer proportionate to the economic power of China. The crucial point of study was the political implications of establishment of this bank.
