Abstract

V magistrski nalogi smo predstavili trenutno stanje na področju razvoja kariere žensk v višjem managementu v Sloveniji. Predstavili smo ovire, s katerimi se ženske srečujejo na svoji karierni poti, ter ključne lastnosti za uspešno kariero. V prvem delu magistrske naloge smo predstavili teoretična izhodišča in opredelili pojme, ki so ključni za lažje razumevanje empiričnega dela. V empiričnem delu smo raziskali, ali mora ženska prestaviti materinstvo v zameno za uspešno kariero, katere lastnosti so ključne za uspešno kariero žensk na področju višjega managementa v Sloveniji, ter predlagali rešitve, ki jih lahko vsaka posameznica, organizacija in država sprejme za izboljšanje problematike. Zadnji del smo posvetili povzetku preverjanja hipotez in razpravi glede na pridobljene rezultate. Delo smo zaključili s sklepnimi mislimi.

Secondary title: Development of women's career in higher management
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, we will present an overview of the current development of the women's career in upper management in Slovenia. We will provide the answers to the two research objectives that we established at the beginning of this thesis. We will present the barriers professional women are facing in their career and the key characters traits for a successful career. In the first section of the thesis, we will present theoretical aspects of the problem for a better understanding of our research. In the next section, we will present our research and findings on whether women have to delay their desire for a family in order to have a successful career and the barriers they are facing along the way. We will also present which character traits are the key to success, according to Slovenian women in the upper management. By the end of the research, we will present the possible solutions to improve the positions of the women in the upper management. We will gather the findings of the research and discuss it. We will finish the thesis with our opinion based on findings presented in this thesis.
