zaključna naloga Razvojno raziskovalnega programa I. stopnje Strojništvo
Abstract

Testing PVD coatings in transforming at the press |
Secondary abstract: |
For Slovenian tool repair workshop we were testing different PVD coatings on car tools in an eccentric press. We have made a bendable test specimen with aditional six smaller specimens. The smaller ones are located at the point of the highest pulling load. This load point is a result of surplus of material on the specimen. Pulling or bending of the final product results in wrinkles that apply high pressure on the specimen, which causes faster wear and tear of the coating. The smaller specimes were designed with an indentation where the wrinkle appears to release and reduce the pressure. Five different coatings will be used for the testing and one specimen will have no coating. Each seperate specimen will be tested with the same number of cycles. The testing will be conducted on a serial production press. After a certain number of cycles the specimen will be replaced and taken for analysis where the coating wear and tear will be monitored. Every test specimen was subjected to a certain number of cycles. The results were discused separately based on the specimens. At the end we created a diagram where all of the coating thicknesses and number of cycles or number of specimen made. We are able to guarantee that after transforming of rigid or high tensile strength metal sheets, there are three PVD coatings that are able to withstand the test. |
