Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo raziskali, katere so bile glavne estetske in konceptualne značilnosti umetniške smeri nadrealizma, s poudarkom na nadrealističnem filmu. Ugotovili smo, kako se vpliv historičnega nadrealizma kaže v sodobnem filmu, natančneje v filmskem ustvarjanju grškega režiserja Yorgosa Lanthimosa. V diplomski nalogi smo raziskali pojem avtorstva. Z analizo treh filmov Lanthimosa (Podočnik, Jastog in Ubijanje svetega jelena) smo raziskali, kateri elementi se skozi režiserjev filmski opus ponavljajo, izražajo umetnikovo identiteto in ga delajo prepoznavnega avtorja. Raziskali smo trenutno stanje grškega filma in analizirali, ali je družbeno in ekonomsko stanje v Grčiji vplivalo na izoblikovanje Lanthimosove prepoznavne filmske govorice.

Secondary title: Surrealism in contemporary film: the case of Yorgos Lanthimos
Secondary abstract: In the dissertation we researched, which were the main aesthetic and conceptual features of the artistic direction of surrealism, with the focus on a surrealist film. We found out how the impact of historical surrealism is reflected in contemporary films, more specific in the filmmaking of the Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos. In the dissertation we also discovered the concept of authorship. With the analysis of his three movies (Dogtooth, The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer) we researched which elements are repeated, express the artist’s identity and make him a recognisable author, through the director’s film opus. We also investigated the current situation of the Greek film and analysed whether the social and economic situation in Greece influenced on shaping Lanthimos’ recognisable film language.
