diplomsko delo
Abstract
Rezultati so bili zbrani z vprašalnikom.

Attitudes of adults towards food supplements |
Secondary abstract: |
A balanced diet is of great importance for health and wellbeing of our body, since it provides us with all the necessary nutrients to function normally. Food supplements, also called nutritional or dietary supplements, are concentrated nutrient sources, which can supplement a regular diet. Food supplements are not intended to prevent or treat illness, although a lot of people confuse them with medications. Todays’ lifestyle, fast way of life, also misconception about the use of dietary supplements, increased the use of food supplements. The purpose of this bachelor's thesis was to find out the attitude adults have towards food supplements. The descriptive research method was used in the research part of the thesis. Results were collected through a survey. The analysis of the results showed, adults know, that food supplements are only a supplement to a regular diet and not a substitute for a balanced diet. However, they are not convinced that food supplements are not really a form of medication. The main reason adults consume food supplements, is their desire for health and desire not to get sick. Many people consume food supplements (especially those with high protein content) due to their increased sports activity. Among food supplements containing vitamins and minerals, most users consume multivitamin preparations, vitamin C and magnesium on daily basis. Based on research results, I can conclude, that it is necessary to raise awareness of food supplements consumption, which should be adjusted according to the needs of the body; and that healthy nutrition is important for general health and wellbeing, while food supplements are only supplement to inadequate nutrition. |
