Abstract

Rezultati pregleda literature so predstavljeni s PRISMO. Zbrane podatke smo opisno predstavili.

Secondary language: English
Secondary title: Benefits of using skin to skin contact method in preterm infants
Secondary abstract: Theoretical introduction: Premature birth is the leading cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity. It is characteristic of premature babies that they face many developmental problems. In order to prevent these complications we use the kangaroo method. Proven, the method has many benefits for premature babies and their parents. The method in poor countries gives premature survivors, and in developed, it allows parents to have better connections with their preterm children. Methodology of the research: In the final part we used the descriptive method of work. Inclusion criteria in finding articles were articles only in Slovene and English, which were fully accessible. We used global databases EBSCOhost and PubMed and Cobiss. The results of the literature review are presented with PRISMA. All collected data will be presented in a descriptive way. Results: The use of the kangaroo method has many positive effects on premature infants, with only a few of these being: lower mortality, physiological stability, shorter hospitalization, stronger bond between mother, father and child and easier coping with stress. Discussion and conclusion: The kangaroo method in premature infants is fundamental to the further development of the child. The effects of the method go back to adulthood. A nurse who plays a role in educating parents about prematurely and his needs has a great role to play in the method.
