Abstract

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂinfluence of biostimulant on fruit formation and earliy yield of strawberries (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.)
Secondary abstract: The need to reduce the negative impacts of food production on the environment is increasing, and thus presents a challenge for agriculture. The purpose of this thesis was to study how biostimulants influence the growth and development of strawberries. Strawberries could be grown eather in an integrated or organic production system. The organic production of strawberries involves new knowledge and the development of new technologies. Part of the technological process is the use of biostimulants, which have proven to have a positive effect on physiological processes, while also benefiting the environment. Biostimulants are agents that are added to plants and have a positive effect on their growth and development. Usually they are natural seaweed extracts, but they can also be a blend made with added minerals.
