Abstract

Izvedemo natezni in izvlečni preizkus armaturnih palic.

Secondary title: Comparison of tensile strength and the bond with concrete between steel and basalt rebars
Secondary abstract: The thesis addresses the bond strength between concrete and basalt rebars with a diameter of 12 mm in comparison with steel rebars. The existing European standards have not taken basalt rebars into consideration yet. Both the tensile test as well as the pull-out test were carried out in order to check the rebars. The laboratory activities were carried out following the SIST EN 10080:2005 standard. Since the used material has its own specifics, the test samples as well as the testing procedure were adjusted in advance. When it came to the tensile test, reinforcing bars were observed under the impact of the tensile load until they were torn. The reinforcing bars were pulled out of concrete cubes when it came to the pull-out test. Two different types of concrete were analysed % normal strength concrete and high strength concrete. There were three samples used in order to carry out the tensile test whereas the pull-out test was carried out using 6 samples % 3 samples per each type of concrete. The results of the tests that focused on analysing basalt rebars were compared to the results of the tests that focused on steel rebars. One can observe that the basalt reinforcement bars can bear a higher tensile stress. However, they represent a more fragile material. The pull-out test proves that the basalt rebars and steel rebars behave in a similar way. In the case of concrete of normal strength and basalt rebars, a higher bond strength is achieved than in the case of conventional concrete and steel rebars, and in the case of high strength concrete, the value of bond strength for basalt rebars is less than for steel.
