Abstract

Potikali smo v mešanico šote in kremenčevega peska.

Secondary title: Optimisation of the propagation of diferent [!] oakleaf hydrangea clones (Hydrangea quercifolia W. Bartram) by cuttings
Secondary abstract: Ornamental flower self-supply has as well as self-supply of any other product large economic impact. Quality of the plants must be high and their production rate highly successful, to be economically interesting. Some plants are easier to propagate then others. That means, in some cases optimisation of propagation is needed. The experiment, of the propagation of different clones of oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia W. Bartram) was conducted at Biotechnical Faculty of Ljubljana. Experiment was done in beds in a greenhouse. The bed was a mixture of peat and pebble sand. Osmocote fertilizer was added to the mixture when planting softwood cuttings. Softwood cuttings are more likely to propagate in spring and summer time. Addition of hormone increases and promotes formation of root system. Because of high transpiration rate, misting or fogging is required. Propagation with hardwood cuttings was not very successful. Only 14.2 % have survived and none of them have rooted. Softwood cuttings showed greater rate of propagation. Successfulness of rooting was between 71.1 % and 86.7 % and new shoot rate was between 13.8 % and 31.4 %. The presence of callus was low (3 – 8.9 %). Most of cuttings were rooted basally.
