diplomsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: Noise measurements and control in woodworking industry
Secondary abstract: In this work, we got acquainted with sound in general, namely with its creation, propagation, and its many types. The by-product of sound is noise, which is characterized as an unwanted and harmful component of sound and by that our goal is to limit human exposure to it by as much as possible. Long-term exposure to noise can impact our health ability, hurt our psychological wellbeing and be the cause of many illnesses, including neurological and cardiovascular diseases. Later in work, we shifted our focus to the level of noise in the working environment. The goal was to determine if the level of noise that the workers are exposed to daily is within the legislative framework. The noise was measured in a typical woodworking facility at three different locations within the operating environment. The measured values were interpreted in detail using third octave-band analysis along with the complete frequency spectrum of human hearing. The obtained results of the measurements and analysis were used to conduct additional recommendations for the control of noise in the working environments, that were subjected to research.
