Abstract

Poučevanje glasbe in učenje o glasbi pričakuje praktično izkušnjo učenca, ki z ustvarjalnim pristopom in poslušanjem lažje ponotranji teoretično pridobljena znanja. Pevkam so bile preko učenja, spoznavanja in izvajanja raznolike zborovske literature približane značilnosti glasbe posameznih obdobij. Pri petju telo postane inštrument. K boljšemu pomnjenju pripomore sproščenost telesa in mišic.

Secondary title: Preparation of choir concert as a method of teaching music
Secondary abstract: Music teaching expects a practical experience of students; with a creative approach and listening they can internalize theoretically gained knowledge with ease. To illustrate this fact while composing the master's thesis, a girls' choir named Magistrale was formed by randomly picked singers, who performed a concert together. The songs performed at the concert were chosen from various historical periods and art movements. The program featured the Gregorian chant from the middle ages, polyphony from renaissance, a baroque oratorio for the choir and five sentences of a mass from the 21st century that included a hint of jazz. The preparation for the concert and its performance were used as a method of teaching music - through learning and performing different genres of choir music the singers absorbed the characteristics of different music periods. When singing your body becomes an instrument. The complete relaxation of the body and muscles enhances retention. Different exercises - structured according to the methods of the academic dancer Panda van Proosdij and the Slovenian professor Alenka Slokar Bajc - were utilized to achieve the relaxation of the singers, to bring them closer together and to achieve a homogeneous sound of the choir. Exercises with body percussion were used as a link between the first and second part of the concert; they were also used during rehearsals as they relax the mind and the body. To counter the rhythmical body percussion the singers learned how to perform harmonics which functioned as the introductory and linking part of the concert - it was also a great relaxation technique during rehearsals.
