Abstract
Nekatere evropske države že s pridom izkoriščajo bimodalno tehnologijo in uvedbo novih prevoznih sredstev.

Intermodal transport in company gorenje d.d. |

The volume of goods transshipped by road transport is increasing year by year. As a result, more air pollution, deterioration of infrastructure, road accidents and consequently delays, damage to cargo and additional costs occur. In order to avoid this, countries and companies have started using new modern technologies and combined or intermodal transport.
Some European countries are already making good use of bimodal technology and the introduction of new means of transport. For long journeys (freight of goods), they mostly choose to use rail and road. The road has the advantage that cargo travels "door-to-door", thereby avoiding any intermediate manipulation and damage to the load. The railway can carry freight freely at any time, since there are no prohibitions on running at certain times and holidays than on the road. Cargo is also better secured, but double manipulation is required. |
