(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Podatke smo analizirali s pomočjo programa Microsoft Office Excel.

The attitude of nursing care providers to an alcoholized patient in urgent treatment |
| Secondary abstract: |
Background and purpose: The medical treatment of a patient who is also under the influence of alcohol during the underlying illness or is treated only because of acute alcohol intoxication, is very complex. The purpose of this thesis was to examine the attitude of health care providers to intoxicated and violent patients at the time of emergency treatment.
Research Methods: In the theoretical part of this thesis, we used the descriptive method to review domestic and foreign professional literature. The research part is based on the quantitative research method. We used a method of interviewing 70 nursing care providers in emergency clinics. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analysed using Microsoft Office Excel.
Results: The survey showed that respondents often participate in the treatment of an intoxicated patient (PV = 3.0). Conflicts with intoxicated patients rarely occur (PV = 2.3). Respondents find intoxicated patients behave abusively (PV = 2.5), slightly less present is physical violence (PV = 2.4). At the same time, the interviewed employees often feel angry (PV = 2.9) and appalled (PV = 2.8), believing that intoxicated patients compromise their safety (PV = 2.7).
Discussion and Conclusion: Emergency room staff often encounters intoxicated and even violent patients. Health care professionals must provide medical care professionally and, regardless of the patient's behaviour and condition, must endeavour to respect their dignity and other rights that belong to them as a patient during the treatment. |
