Abstract

Secondary title: The inclusion of a puppet in the daily routine
Secondary abstract: In the diploma thesis entitled Incorporating a puppet into the daily routine, the theoretical part consists of findings from professional literature and introduces daily routine, kindergarten curriculum, hidden curriculum, and elements of daily routine. We write about what is a puppet and present different kinds of puppets. We researched the impact of puppets on child's development of self-esteem, empathy, communication, social skills, creativity, imagination, and distinguishing between reality and fantasy. We were interested in how playing with a puppet influences a child. In the end of theoretical part, we also presented the project work. In the empirical part, with the help of lesson plans and evaluations, we described the course of the three-month project entitled Incorporating a puppet into the daily routine, that we have been performing with children between ages two and three. During the implementation of the project, we found that a puppet is of great assistance to a kindergarten teacher, and is also very helpful for children when learning basic rules, as they are more committed and motivated to learn rules of the daily routine.
