Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of the availability of raw materials for the production of batteries for electric vehicles
Secondary abstract: In the thesis, we focus on the growth of the production of electric vehicles and the consequent utilization of some rare metals, which are crucial for the production of such vehicles. Through the theory of batteries and from the numerous scientific literature and reports we find out that the most endangered metal is cobalt. This is due to the centralized export of this metal from the politically unstable country of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the dependence on the production of other metals. We conclude that the production of electric vehicles is not entirely dependent on the exposed metal so that we can expect a fall in the prices of electric vehicles. We explore additional solutions that could reduce the automotive industry's dependence on an unstable market.
